At the first virtual Golf Business Canada Conference & Trade Show, delegates submitted ideas in advance for the Great Canadian Idea Share that showcased their best money-saving and revenue-generating ideas. The top 8 semi-finalists were chosen and presented live during the virtual event with delegates voting for the top 4 favourite ideas.
It was a competitive process, with many creative and impressive ideas stemming from a golf season unlike any other. The top 4 finalist ideas will be featured in Golf Business Canada magazine.
In typical 2020 fashion, we had our first ever co-winners who tied for first place, and are the proud recipients of the grand prize of an all expense paid golf trip to The Highland Links at Cape Breton, valued at $5,000 courtesy of Tee-On Golf Management Software and bragging rights for a whole year!

At Copper Point Golf Club, we focus on growing the game through junior golf. In 2019, we added 2 new sets of junior tees to The Ridge Course: The Red Junior Tees and The Yellow Junior Tees. The Red Tees measure 1,728 yards, with the shortest hole being 47 yards, and the longest hole at 152 yards, Par 62. The Yellow Tees measure 2,704 yards with the shortest hole being 70 yards and the longest hole at 217 yards, Par 62.
We give certificates to the junior if they shoot 100 or better, which graduates them to the next set of tees. We have a certificate graduating them from the Red Tees to the Yellow Tees and a certificate that graduates them from the Yellow Tees to the Copper Tees. The Copper Tees measure 3,575 in yards, with the shortest hole being 72 yards and the longest hole at 348 yards.
Most of the time, juniors are playing from the forward tees and once they
reach 10 strokes we ask them to pick the ball up for pace of play concerns, but
they miss out on chipping and putting. We offer lessons and camps to help
juniors practice that part of their game. We also offer Take A Kid to The Course
all year long on The Ridge Course, so kids 16 and under play free with a paying
