The golf course industry has been an exciting place to be since
participation in the game skyrocketed in 2020. More than ever, society is rekindling their relationship with the game of golf, challenging turfgrass professionals to adapt and innovate new methods of caring for playing surfaces. We are passionate about producing the highest quality in course conditioning possible, but also about giving back to the industry by providing turfgrass management students and enthusiasts an opportunity to kick-start their career.
GOAL OF THE PROGRAM
The Vancouver Turf Internship (VTI) was established in 2019, and is a partnership between Marine Drive Golf Club, Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club, and Point Grey Golf & Country Club. improve their understanding of golf course management and meeting standards in a high paced environment. All three properties that an intern experiences in Vancouver look after year-round play, promote Annual Bluegrass (Poa annua) greens, and manage an essential greenspace ecosystem within the third largest urban center in Canada. Each intern experiences these opportunities in three unique environments in one season.
The goal of this four-month program is to prepare interns for the next opportunity of their career, whether that is furthering their education or taking the step into a new position. Successful applicants are welcomed into the lower mainland of British Columbia and
