Revenues Nationally Are Up!
By the end of August, rounds played nationally showed a slight increase of 2.94% over the same time period in 2017 (January to August) with BC posting the highest year-over- year increase of 8.33% despite the effect of the wild res. Following a few dif cult years, Atlantic Canada and Quebec also reported increases in their year-to-date rounds played of close to 4%.
When looking at provincial rounds played for August, Manitoba and Saskatchewan were the shining stars with a 6.24% increase over August 2017. Due to a late start, the YTD rounds played for the Prairies remained slightly down over last year but their strong performance in August helped to normalize the year-to-date average. All other regions across the country could best be described as at for the month of August with the exception of Alberta courses who have strug-
gled with Mother Nature this season both in the form of weather and wild res.
When looking at what matters most – the bottom line – it’s great to see that revenues nationally were up by 6.05% over last year when most regions reported rounds played as being at. This would suggest that courses are focusing on non-green fee revenues and/or are getting a higher revenue per round. The Atlantic region continues to outperform all other regions for 2018 with signi cant increases in both revenues and transactions, year-over-year.
