During those times, perhaps a new pro on staff will pop by to provide insight into the numbers, thus growing their stable of students. Golfers driven for more club speed will have all the time in the world for your next group swing-speed clinic. The more data they understand, the more they are going to turn to the experts - your experts - for support.
Guess the yardage, anyone? This is a fun game that will enhance a mens, ladies, or mixed event. Set the launch monitor up on straightaway par four and have the player guess their number before they hit. Closest prediction receives, say, a $20 voucher in the restaurant or golf shop. If you have a driving range, play guess the yardage on a sunny Saturday and
post the event to your social media. People will come from all corners of the community to take part.
FUTURE OUTLOOK
What is the number one motivation that would lead you to invest in an indoor golf experience at your club? Could it be to fix a dead- space problem? Or to increase member engagement in the offseason? Is it to sell more equipment? Or is it to push your instruction program further? The “why” is wildly important, because you will need to follow that motivation to help make the logical decisions.
Not all technology is created equal. And not all of it is designed to provide equivalent experiences. With a strong foundational vision, you can strategically explore all the options available to you and your budget. It’s all-too-easy to aimlessly wander the internet looking at what each product CAN do – focus instead on exactly what technologies will do for you and your business. At Iron & Wood, it was crucial for me to offer multi- sport games without sacrificing a premier golf experience. I have found success in versatility. The more times I can say, “Yes we have that too,” the better.
The digital evolution in golf is still evolving. AI is here, and it’s just getting started. I would like to put it into print (first?) that AI integration into swing data is absolutely on the horizon. Using a player profile, smart bots will be able to suggest lesson videos (preferably yours) and fitting specs to consider when buying clubs. Imagine all that AI will be able to automate when it learns your students’ swing data or their performances from a few simulated rounds.
Augmented reality golf. That’s on the near horizon as well. Another article for another day, perhaps, but I would recommend spending some time educating yourself now ... because the future is arriving quickly and there will be great benefits to being an early adopter.
From sophisticated swing- analysis tools to immersive gameplay-features, the technological advancements driving the indoor golf revolution continue to push boundaries and redefine the possibilities of our sport. As the industry continues to adapt and innovate, one thing remains clear: golf simulators are a versatile vehicle for increasing profitability and elevating experience.
