      2019 Canadian Golf Season Review
In the majority of Canada, the golf season runs from April thru October which is reflected in the following reports.
For November to March, members continue to receive the Revenue Tracker Report, however the data for Rounds Played and Weather will focus on British Columbia only. British Columbia golf facilities continue to report and thus receive regional and provincial reporting during the winter months.
Collectively, fall golf in Canada this past season was much better than 2018; however significant regional differences were evident. Facilities from Ontario to the Atlantic provinces enjoyed late season gains with better than usual weather and less of a hindrance to fall play than in 2018, whereas snow in Alberta and the Prairies brought an early end to the season for many. Frequent heavy rain in British Columbia also curtailed play for that region.
For the year, all regions recorded increased volumes in rounds played compared to 2018 with the exception of British Columbia whose rounds played can be described as flat. In keeping with the results of the 2019 season, the eastern part of the country exceeded
the 5-year average for rounds played whereas the western half of the country fell below the 5-year average. Quebec emerged as the biggest winner showing an almost 9% increase.
Combined, the national rounds played totals for 2019 was up 4% over 2018, but virtually unchanged compared to the 5-year average level.
When comparing the Rounds Played Report to the Revenue Tracker, revenues were up nationally by 4.5% over the previ- ous season which aligns with the 4.0% increase in national rounds played over the same time period. YTD, all regions have positive growth over 2018, ranging from a high of 10% in Quebec to 2% in British Columbia.
