Revenues Up 1.21% Nationally
NGCOA Canada launched the Revenue Tracker last year to complement the Rounds Played and Weather Reports. The Revenue Tracker includes a sample of over 500 golf facilities from across Canada reporting total Visa, MasterCard, and Debit revenue from all departments (not including cash revenue).
At the time of publication, November is the most current report available due to timing in data collection. Operators from across Canada commented that the weather in November 2017 was more representative of a typical November compared to the past 2 years where weather was warmer. This most likely contributed to the month-to-date decline in rounds when comparing November 2017 to November 2016. When looking at the year-to-date numbers, rounds played
across the country were neutral at best (Prairies) with the largest declines in Alberta (-7.18%) and Quebec (-6.98).
However, when comparing the Rounds Played Report to the Revenue Tracker, revenues were up nationally by 1.21% over the previous season compared to the decline in rounds of 4.02% over the same time period. It appears that the average rate per round has increased or non-green fee revenues are compensating for the slight decline in rounds.
Members are participating and utilizing these reports more than ever. Thank you to all participating members for their efforts! Your Rounds Played and Weather Report information and data requests will be delivered to your inbox the rst Tuesday of each month, or you can view them online at www.ngcoa.ca.
