on Family-Owned Golf Courses
Never resting, the Paterson family, including patriarch Wilson and twin sons Scott & David (shown here with their family), have been continually growing all elements of the Royal Ashburn Golf Club.
EagleQuest: a consortium of 7 golf facilities in BC, AB, and NC since 2003
Immigration to Canada in the mid-1970’s led Nawaz Hirji to complete his education in Calgary. Real estate and investments were the steppingstones into hotel management and ownership. Then in 2003, he was able to secure the remaining assets of EagleQuest, who were exiting Canada on their return to the United States.
Since then, adding and subtracting facilities currently sees them operating 7 operations in BC, Alberta and Nova Scotia. As of this year, son Nafeez, has taken on the role as President of the golf operations. The family starts with an enthusiasm
for golf, its growth and the potential appeal to newcomers who seek an entertaining outlet that addresses personal past times – fun is the name of the game. “We have changed our attitude and our amenities in order to attract them”.
To this end, their portfolio covers the breadth of the golf market. To be sure the locations of these facilities in faraway markets needs a special administration approach. To meet this challenge, they seek individuals with a strong local knowledge of their market. This is complemented by a demonstrated ability to be self-starters with ability to execute a plan in collaboration with the owners.
