The Parting Shot
Message From The NGCOA Canada President • Harry Brotchie
Thank You
On behalf of the Membership, Board and Staff, I would like to thank Harry for his strong leadership during his Presidency.
Despite all of the uncer- tainties and improvised solutions during these challenging circum- stances, the NGCOA Canada achieved its highest membership ever, and best financial perfor- mance. More importantly, we were able to provide exceptional service levels supporting golf course operators throughout all of the pandemic implications. These successes would not have been possible without the pro- active governance that Harry guided our Board of Directors through.
Congratulations, Harry. We look forward to your ongoing support of the NGCOA Canada, and wish you all the best with your own business successes within Lakeland Management.

A great association with a bright future
It has been an honour to serve as President of the NGCOA Canada for the past two years. While travel and conferences have been limited due to the pandemic, it has been a wonderful experience to meet many of you nonetheless.
The association has completed its most successful financial year ever and is well positioned to move forward, to continue to represent owners in a variety of ways and to establish new member benefit programs.
I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to the wonderful staff we have across the country, the regional Chapter Advisory Boards and all the National Directors that I have had the pleasure to work with.
I feel the association is in very good hands with our President elect, Daniel Pilon, from Quebec and incoming Vice President, Richard Edmonds, from Ontario. I am pleased to continue working with them for the next two years as I move into the role of Past President. The upcoming election at our AGM in Vancouver will see several new directors joining the board and sadly the loss of some very dedicated directors whose terms will have come to an end. While I look forward to the
fresh ideas and enthusiasm that the new Directors will bring with their participation, I would like to recognize those leaving who have devoted their time and wisdom to the Board.
Special thanks to our outgoing Past President, Lesley McMahon, who is a true golf course owner involved in every aspect of the day- to-day business of her course, and who has exhibited a real passion for our association. Lesley has been a leader in promoting Women in Golf and ongoing relationships with Golf Canada and she will continue to be active in our new golfer introduction program.
Although some of our members are still struggling to recover from the pandemic, the golf industry continues to have growth potential, and our association is a key part of contributing to its development.
As the 2022 golf season comes to a close in many parts of the country, I hope that the year has been successful and that you may be able to enjoy a well-deserved break, but as we all know there is very little down time in our industry!
Sincerely,
Harry Brotchie, Owner
