  PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Venus Martz
Summer is in full swing here in our community and as July strolls into our lives, it’s hard to imagine that over half the year has passed and we’re finally slowly, but surely, putting 2020 behind us. July holds a very special place in my heart as it is the month that marks my four-year anniversary as your Chamber president. It’s been an incredible 4 years, with a lot of learning, a lot of new ideas, and a lot of fun... we’ve lived to tell the tale of the Great Pandemic of 2020... I can’t say enough about the amazing team we have here at the Chamber and the amazing Chamber family we have... In my book, we’re second to none!
On a bright note, I’ve been selected as one of three St. Louisans chosen for Governor Parson’s Show Me Recovery Task Force. Our job on this task force is to provide the Governor with recommendations on how to help strengthen Missouri’s small businesses while continuing to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. It is my great honor and privilege to help our community and State move forward.

We’ve also been selected to receive North County’s Inc.’s 2021 Business Development Leadership Award. The ceremony will be on Friday, September 17th at 7:30 a.m. at the Marriott St. Louis Airport. Tickets are available at www.northstlouiscounty.com
So what’s ahead? We’ve got our Scholarship Bowl on Thursday, August 5th at Crest Bowl from 6-9 p.m. Don’t hesitate to get a team of 6 together! Remember that all the proceeds go directly to our scholarship fund that help our young scholars in achieving their dreams!
Ladies! Reserve your calendar for September 24th for the Chamber’s Annual Women’s Empowerment Seminar by The Emerson Family YMCA. We have lined up phenomenal speakers for the day! Early bird pricing is $30! Call the chamber office today! Sponsorships are available.
Sign up now for our Membership Luncheon on July 21st at Catering To You! We will be hearing from Tom Daiber, Lead Lender Relations Specialist with the US Small Business Administration. He will be speaking about PPP and EIDL loans and forgiveness. PLEASE BRING SCHOOL SUPPLIES AT THE LUNCHEON as we are collecting school supplies.
We will be having a Membership Orientation on August 25th at 9:30 a.m. You don’t have to be a new member to attend this, we all need refresher courses about what the Chamber has to offer! PLEASE JOIN US and call the Chamber office to sign up!
I hope you enjoy your 4th of July celebrations and if you have yet to make plans, we have several happenings across all of our cities! Let’s remember what Inde- pendence Day stands for and celebrate the liberties that we all enjoy in this great nation. God bless America.
