Dear Members,

As we arrive in 2023 it is so good to know that we can mix again in person,
with understandable educated caution. It is wonderful to know that our BPW UK
AGM, MEF AGM and National Conference will be held in Belfast this year. We will
be hosted in a beautiful city some of you may have already visited with our last
Conference in Belfast 10 years ago, as Ann Wiseall tells me.
The up to date running order of the weekend is in this issue, please take the
time to read this as we have managed to secure excellent speakers.
As you will know from my President’s Christmas letter we will be joined by
our European Regional Co-Ordinator, Anu Vicks from Estonia. We always want to
include our YBPW UK members, and with this in mind we have Alice Minuto MBA,
the European YBPW representative, joining us and running a breakout session for
our YBPW UK members.

The Inter-Regional Public speaking championship final will be held at the

Stormont building on Friday 10 March 2023, with teams from two areas taking
part. Thank you to the organising taskforce and members of BPW UK NI & SEW for
taking this forward. I have been told that stiff competition will be arriving in the
revised teams from LASE in 2024! Watch out all teams.

Friday evening will be our welcome dinner and speaker, with more infor-
th
mation arriving very soon. Saturday 11 March is our Conference Day as per the
programme, but in the evening a relaxed meal with members, giving an opportuni-
ty to catch up with friends old and new. I always find that this is where many life-
long friendships are formed, however good Zoom has been, nothing can replicate
that feeling of being in the same room together.

We hope that as many members and guests will join the weekend as possible,
however at BPW UK we always have an eye to the future and have been looking at
how we can slowly move towards a hybrid version of conference. We are aware
that we are all busy women and may not have the opportunity to travel to confer-
ence every year. But hybrid will never replace being in one place, networking, talk-
ing, and discussing the day’s business or speakers together …. So, we have had a
quote to have the Conference Day filmed which will be £600.00. This will be avail-
able to watch via the BPW UK YouTube channel, with high quality audio and film
promised.
