Our Exotic Life
Aloha shirts, muumuus, go-aheads, hula, lei, hibiscus, surfers, outrigger canoes, sweetbread, pineapple and papaya welcomed Sandy, Debbie, Suzie, Johnny, Pat and Gordon Nelson
to Hawaii in 1957. Before the tourists took over.
On August 21, 1959, we celebrated Hawaii statehood.
The following year, we threw a lei into the sea as our departing ship passed Diamond Head, in hopes that we would someday return. This is the year.
