And How Many Lives?
We could have picked a plaque, designed a park, penned a symphony, or perhaps, just slinked away.
But, no —
We had to erect the largest embassy on the planet smack in the center
of Baghdad — a monument to
U.S. power and almighty U.S. dollar.
Call it a palatial extravagance.
Or call it a colossal mistake.
Either way, we marked our territory with nearly a billion bucks.
Woof-woof.
