“You really should attend to these issues. We have an excellent family counselor on staff, but you're free, of course, to choose anyone covered by your insurance plan.”
Mary: “Believe me, I'm not usually like this. I have two friends with terminal cancer and it's not a happy time. Is that so unusual? Something just set me off.”
Doc: Another nod and more notes. “As I said, please look into counseling. In the meantime, I want to see you again after the test results are back. Get dressed up to your waist. A nurse will be in shortly to take you to X-ray.”
“Have a good day.” (Yes, indeed.)
