  PREFACE A Short History of Donald
Seventy-four years of Donald English cannot easily be summarized, so this book is intended to highlight the most egregious aspects of Donald language rather than describe the ugly scene in detail.
This may aford some perspective on Donald’s aptitude for bastardizing the language, and make sense of the strange and unpredictable ways he brandishes words.
We can skip the Norman Conquest, Middle English, the 14th century “great vowel shift” and The Renaissance, which brings us to 1946, when Donald was borne by his long-sufering mother, Mary Anne MacLeod Trump and her spouse, Fred, who came from a long line of rather dubious characters.
Ironically, Donald’s grandfather, Friedrich Christ Trump, died in the 1918 lu pandemic, after dodging compulsory German military service. His father, Frederick (Fred), was
