Why should I hIre an accountant when I can do my taxes myself?
Business owners are the masters of DIY so the value of accounting services can be difficult to see when you are first starting out. It seems easy enough—at first—to walk into a registry office and tell them you want to incorporate a company then walk out a small business owner!
Congratulations! You are on your way! Now, do you need to register for GST? What about payroll remittances? What are your allowable business expenses? How are you tracking those expenses? Do you know the revenue recognition rules for tax? Should you buy or lease your business equipment?
A minefield of questions exists for business owners! Handling these questions is what an accountant does for you. As your accountant, I know what you need to know. I look at your specific situation and provide you with the knowledge that you need. No stumbling along, no million-dollar mistakes. Advice so that your tax bill is minimized, your strategy maximized, and no penalties and interest charged from the CRA. Having an accountant as part of your business team saves you money and saves you stress. Some things are simple and easy to do
yourself—taxes and business planning are not one of them. You deserve to have an expert on your side to provide information and guidance.
It is important to know that accountants do not only do taxes. I am knowledgeable in business operations from that first incorporation to the final return on dissolution. Whether you are starting out, in the middle of growth, in a rough patch, or planning
for retirement, I can help you proactively plan to protect your assets and achieve your dreams!
Why do business owners NOT hire accountants? Business owners simply do not understand the value of having an accountant. They do not realize how much
money it is costing them to run their business without an accountant.
How can I tell if I am receiving quality accounting services? You will know that you are getting quality accounting services when you come away from a meeting
with a better understanding of what your next steps are regarding your business finances. You receive timely responses to your questions and are advised about tax deadlines, potential audits risks, and other inconveniences ahead of time.
Above all, you feel comfortable talking with your accountant about your business worries and goals
Still unsure if you need an accountant? Send me an email or call me. I am happy to help you determine your business needs as a Chartered
Professional Accountant.
