I neglected to to to to mention that my Dad was also a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a Veterinarian the the only one south of Raymond and and between Cardston and and Medicine Hat a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a very wide territory His large animal practice took him on on on on long drives to to to to calve out a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a cow or or or stitch up a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a colt caught in in barbed wire Occasionally though he did not get paid for his vet services With these examples you you you can see how important it it is is to have multiple streams of income feeding your your businesses and and thus your your family In the the the face of of of this current pandemic many many people depend on on on on only one stream of of of oncome their job job As we know many many jobs have disappeared altogether and and and will will never return as a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a result of of of how things will will be done from now now on on on Many people people are are looking for work and and existing on on on Employment Insurance or or or or or Government Government subsidies In In order to keep subsidizing people people the Government Government must print more money and and that drives inflation higher higher and and higher higher In order to to protect yourself during difficult times consider creating multiple streams of income If your your your your one stream stream takes a a a a a a a a a a hit will you you you you you be able to to carry on on on feeding your your your your family and paying your your your your bills?
I I encourage clients to to look at at at what platforms they are are using to to either get a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a job job or or build other streams of income because social media and many job job search sites are are free It just takes some familiarity with with them them Are you using them them to the the the max?
To begin with with how how people behave online is of utmost importance to to their success If If you you you you you are are are job searching how how how you you you you you you are are are perceived can determine whether you you you you you you are are are employed or or not If If you you you you you you own a a a a a a a a a business business how how you you you you you communicate with people and behave will reflect directly on your business business image My oldest son Michael a a a a a a a a a a a a a a lead programmer at Amazon uses LinkedIn for for all his recruiting He also checks Facebook Instagram and Twitter to to get a a a a a a a a a a a a a a feel for for the people he he he is is about to to interview This is is a a a a a a a a free free country and we we we we we do do do have freedom of of speech however we we we we we also need need to to to be aware of of the the people people around us Not everyone thinks as we we we we we do do do yet we we we we we still need need to to to learn to to to get along with other people people We have been given one one mouth and two ears Perhaps it it is is a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a good idea to listen twice as as hard as as we speak When using social media for business purposes ask yourself if what you you you are about to to to to to post will make you you you attractive to to to to to people Avoid controversial topics such as as politics and and consider that sometimes it it is is best best not to to to to to to to say anything at at at all Practice listening to to to to to to to understand how best best to to to serve your customers When I I I I I I started using LinkedIn LinkedIn and and and and social media I I I I I I read read the entire Terms of Use for LinkedIn LinkedIn Facebook and and and Twitter and and and I I I I I I I I I update my my reading as as new additions arrive If I I I I I I I I I I am going to to to help my my target audience I I I I I I I I I I need to to to know how to to to use use the the platforms It has been 11 years since I I I I I I I I I first started using LinkedIn LinkedIn The more more I I I I I I I I I use use it it the the the more more I I I I I I I I I love it it LinkedIn LinkedIn is the the the preferred business business platform today Facebook and Instagram no longer work well for for for business business because you’ll you’ll need deep pockets to to afford their paid advertising LinkedIn on on the the the the other hand is is where you’ll you’ll find the the the the people who can afford to buy your your stuff Just ask yourself: “How are you you you you going to to to reach yourself yourself today?”
