Eco-Drive isn’t an ordinary power source—it’s one with purpose built in, enabling our watches to be powered by any light source, continuously and sustainably, eliminating the need to replace watch batteries. Respecting
and preserving the environment by preventing millions of watch batteries from entering landfills each year.
All watches require power. But very few consider where that power comes from. In 1970 Citizen pioneered the world’s first light-powered watch using their proprietary technology called Eco-Drive.
Through a partnership with 1% for the Planet, Citizen has pledged to donate 1% of its website sales in the U.S. to support a host of nonprofit organizations focused on the environment.
