Recent LA Times story: “Vengeance is served with a jack- hammer or death metal: South Koreans strike back at noisy neighbors” details, as you might have guessed, the extent to which frustrated tenants in one of the world’s most densely populated urban centers have gone to air their grievances with those who share walls, following a year of unequivocal an-
choring and isolation (my personal favorite? Not the small gas explosion but the full volume pornography blasting, of course). While the article unpacks the psychological traumas of this last year within the context of immobility, it also underscores how so much of the world now lives in tightly-packed quarters and ecosystems.
