I AM NOT OKAY WITH THIS Jonathan Entwistle’s newest coming-of-age adaptation follows fifteen-year-old Syd- ney through the complexities of high school—including unrequited crushes, bullies (like the archetypal Jock, Brad) and PE—all while discovering that she has telekinetic superpowers. Luckily, Sydney has a support- ive network of confidantes, in- cluding Dina (on whom Sydney has an unrequited crush), and eccentric neighbor, Stanley, to help her through the trials and tribulations of adolescence and identity. Flaunt asks IANOWT stars Sofia Bryant and Richard Ellis what their own coming-of- age stories have taught them. sofia bryant “I don’t think mine is really over yet, and I feel there’s no time where it ends. Everyone is always growing, you’re always learning new things, you’re always feeling different. You know you’re always changing your opinions and viewpoints on life. So I think I’m very much still in that period of time, and that recently, I’ve learned to be more comfortable with myself.” Richard Ellis “What’s interesting is that it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, it’s always the same themes of learning how to accept yourself. For me, personally, it was acceptance.” CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA A revamped and dark take on the beloved classic, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has com- menced its third season, follow- ing young witch Sabrina Spell- man as she approaches life as a half-witch, half-mortal. While Sabrina does enjoy the mystical & enthralling witchy side of her life, she doesn’t quite want to give up on having a normal life, either! She’s joined by her dar- ing and brave group of friends, including Roz, who espouses “The Cunning” (an ability to see visions), and Theo, whose own journey finding identity is empowering. Together, they embark on adventures, both in the real world, and the under- world. Flaunt asks how filming the latest season felt refreshing and different than before. Lachlan Watson “Yeah, it’s a little less black and white. There’s a little more wiggle room to play with. We get a little more freedom to enter her life in different ways. We get new sets to play around on and have a great time, and new actors!” Jaz Sinclair “It was really cool because in the first two parts, it was a lot about Sabrina’s choice between the path of night, or the path of light. So we did end up fo- cusing a lot on Blackwood and Hell and all of that. I feel like in these next two parts, we really expand upon the universe in a really cool way by introduc- ing the pagans and then other forms of magic in part four. It makes the whole Sabrina universe feel bigger. “ 88
