Sierra Capri “Growing up, we didn’t see ourselves in movies or televi- sion, so we’re proud to be on a show like this and telling the story. I think, again, our show is rare. There are shows out there that I feel are diverse, but still not enough—still far and few in between.” Jason Genao “I don’t have an example to lead by, I build the seat at my table. I think people watch this show, and when someone is doing it, they get in line. Before there wasn’t a line. Someone had to be first and no one knew what line to stand in. And then you see the show, there’s an example. You can be on the forefront. Finally!” Diego Tinoco “It’s an awesome experience. We represent diversity on the TV, in front of the camera, and behind the lens, too. We have a diverse set of writers, directors, producers, cinematographers, and crew. It’s been such a joy to in- spire kids of color and have them pursue their dreams.” Jessica Marie Garcia “I feel like we are speaking for an entire group of people, you know? We’re trying to work on a time where it’s not a rarity. But this is just our lives, we’ve been advocating this forever.” 87
