I Remember Isonti-Danae L. Williams I remember when the lights were off because we had no money. we used several blue candles. I remember we warmed water in a pot on the stove to shower because the water was off. I remember going to food pantries to get food because we were starving and had no food. I remember the police swarming into my house and violently flipping tables and going through everything. I remember how upset I was when they took my brother for 2 years with no real reasoning. I remember feeling distraught after cancer took my grandma. My mom held her until her final breath I remember my mom was in the hospital for 9days and not knowing if she was going to survive or not. I remember having to miss school to take care of my younger siblings and the house. I remember my brother coming to Chicago from Kentucky to take care of us while my mom was sick. I remember laughing and singing with my brother while dancing around the living room smiling nonstop. I remember getting a call January 25th 2019 4:30am from the coroner's office to identify a body. I remember my cousin screaming so loud my ears rang like a school bell. I remember the feeling of the pain, it sticks like a picture in a frame I remember the smell of the clothes as death filled my nose 71
