You raised me to make my own choice,
But then expect me to bend my knee at your voice.
Expect me to follow your dream instead
To put all of my dreams down to bed,
To live the life you want me to live,
To live the life you wanted to live,
To pursue your dreams through my adolescence.
Please, just let me live the journey I selected.
O’ father’s decision is set in stone but it is my time,
So let me live my life because yours
Isn’t mine.
