Implosion
Maggie Chlebek
Tears running down her cheek as she sits curled up in her room, Pleading, praying, “Dear God will this be over soon?” This isn’t the first time, nor the last And the things that trigger these meltdowns are memo- ries, flashbacks from the past.
She was happy once, just like every other girl. Before the days when she made herself hurl. But things have changed so much, since those times then, Now it’s just a repetitive cycle that continues to happen time and time again.
No one understands what she goes through, no one understands her pain. Even when someone asks, how is she supposed to explain? This endless battle between right and wrong, It’s tearing her apart and she’s known it all along,
Inside her head, these voices just talk. Each word sending her in a paralyzing shock. “Why can’t I be normal, please what can I do?” No one can help her, she’ll just have to push through.
Her insides have caught fire, she’s burning from within, To think this all started for the desire to be thin. Now she’s endlessly falling in this bottomless abyss, Nowhere to go, and no one to miss.
The pressure is too much, she’s already broken down, It’s different this time though, now the demons wear the crown. She feels herself collapsing, everything caving in. But no one notices, I mean would you, if all you saw was a grin?
