Do the images shown here look familiar? What does it take for us to pause, reflect, and change the negative ways in which we sometimes interact with each other? If life were simpler and we stopped the greed, ignorance, heartlessness, and cruelty, we could be as God intended us to be.
The Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918 occurred over one hundred years before COVID-19. Did we learn anything from all the pandemics that our ancestors endured? How have we changed? What can we do to improve our unfa- vorable habits? We must ask God to give us a new dream— a new vision—and to live with a new purpose, the way we were meant to be.
Pandemics do not discriminate and are unfamil- iar with genders, socioeconomic statuses, or belief systems. This gentleman represents humanity’s vulnerability. May he rest in peace. Amen.
