Inroads In the Medical Field
The magic and miracles of good health lie in medi- cal innovations for the future of our planet. At the time of this writing, health care practitioners are focusing on “the three Ts”—testing, (contact) tracing, and treatment. Ramping up testing will enable doctors to know whether or not a patient has the virus. Right now, there are twenty to thirty percent false negatives. Testing has to become more efficient so that we can know who has COVID-19 and therefore must isolate for fourteen days. Improved test- ing will also provide knowledge about patients’ immune systems and whether certain individuals have antibodies to fight the disease.
Contact-tracing involves following the clues about an infected person’s recent contacts and notifying them about the infected person. This will allow the friends, fam- ily members, or acquaintances of the infected person to isolate and prevent further spread of the disease.
Doctors are presently considering methods of treatment for patients with existing illness to prevent the progres- sion of COVID-19. Medications are now in the experimen- tal stages, and a vaccine (over one hundred variations) is in various stages of development. However, thank God, we are progressing much more quickly than expected.
