How to Measure Windows
Mounting Types and Window Terminology
If the installation brackets are mounted correctly, the rest of the installation process will follow easily. To prepare for this important first step, review the mounting types and basic window terminology illustrated below.
Measurement Guide
You will need a tape measure, pencil and a paper to write down the measurements. Measure the width and drop based on the following:

INSIDE MOUNT
Measure from top to bottom of the window’s frame
Measure from left to right of the window’s frame
OUTSIDE MOUNT
“To ensure less light gap” 2 inches excess on all sides

FLOOR TO CEILING
Show visuals of ceiling to floor mount
Measure from ceiling to floor
Measure from 2 inches of the side frames
Send the initial measurements to your Hunter Douglas Sales Associate or to your preferred Hunter Douglas Dealer for the initial quotation. If satisfied with your quotation, our Hunter Douglas measuring team will conduct actual measurements for the final quotation & other arrangements.
