The word perspective truly shapes everything that I am. If someone were
to ask me how to describe life in one word, I would answer: perspective. All of our senses shape who we are in life. I took this idea and wanted to squeeze all the creativity out of it that I could. This ranged from concepts such as angle changes, to more in-depth ideas such as having models pose differently depending on who they might imagine was taking their photo. I
would have them express themselves differently with the mentality that the photographer was either family, a crush, or an enemy. How each viewer sees this magazine issue is from their personal perspective. What photo are you drawn to the most? How are the models expressing themselves? What style are they wearing? Lastly, why are you drawn to it? These are the questions I am trying to provoke in a viewer. This is the ultimate way to reach someone through the idea of one’s point of view.
Here an example of how three people from different walks of life managed to meet and grow to be friends. With each person pulling fashion influence from their past, they met for a day of shopping. One used her love for music and fitness to dress like a singer from the 1990s. The next woman channelled her love for the environment, while dressing in
a very modern, urban way. Lastly, the final model dresses in a very chic-fitness crossover, influenced by the “cutting edge”. They laughed, caught up, and talked about what happened since they last saw one another. Their perspectives merged to the point that they began finishing each other sentences. In that moment, their individual perspective was shared as extensions of one another. That feeling is one that we all may have experienced before. It is time we reflect on our own lives and see that each living thing is but an extension of our individual view point.
