  ONCE in royal David's city
Stood a lowly cattle shed, Where a mother laid her Baby In a manger for His bed. Mary was that mother mild, Jesus Christ her little Child. (by Cecil Frances Alexander)
This carol is chosen by Heather Coleman; it reminds her of going carol singing with her brothers when they were young kids; it was their favourite.
There’s a light in the sky, though the sky be dark;
It’s the light of the star in the east. There’s a song in the storm, though the storm be long;
It’s the song that my heart loves the best. It’s the song that broke over Bethlehem’s hill,
The angels’ song: Peace on earth, goodwill! And the song made the whole wide world to thrill,
Lovely song of the star in the east.
(by Evangeline Booth)
Shirley Dixon says ‘This carol makes me think of the true meaning of Christmas.’
Julie Corden has chosen this carol because the music and words are divine. (by J.S.Dwight)
O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth. Long lay the world in sin and error pining. Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born;
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine! O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
Helen & Wayne Goodinson have chosen Star Carol by John Rutter, and writes ‘The last verse says it all!’
Let us all pay our homage at the manger.
Sing his praise on this joyful Christmas Night.
CHRIST IS COME, bringing the promise of SALVATION;
Hurry to Bethlehem and see the son of Mary.
