 On Tuesday 22nd June 2021, our charity shop finally reopened after being closed for over a year. VIP Mary Millest (retired shop manager), was invited to take part in a small ‘opening ceremony’ in which she declared the shop officially “open!”. After receiving a thank you card and flowers, Mary expressed her gratitude towards the shop volunteers and those who supported her, also giving her best wishes for the future.
The opening was well received by the community, with many returning customers saying that they had missed the shop and the people in it.
Over the year in which it was closed, the shop under went renovations and deco- rations, freshening up the look of the shop. We now have a more spacious layout as well as organised stock. We are very thankful to the large team of peo- ple who made the renovations and restocking possible. From the landlord and handymen to those who sorted and priced donations, we couldn't have done it without any of you!
All of the volunteers were so happy to be back, each of them expressing their love for the shop and the community that love it so much.
Volunteer Joanne said;
“I am absolutely on top of the world! It feels like coming back home.”
“All of the feed back has been really positive and the shop has had lots of compliments.” - Fiona, Volunteer
“I went not knowing what to expect but it was really nice to meet a broad range of people. I felt so comfortable.”
- Annette, Volunteer
“I am very happy to see the shop open and running so well. The shop volun- teers have all settled in brilliantly. A big thank you from me to them and also to everyone who helped in any way to make this happen! A big team of people have worked so hard in many different areas. Thank you!” Sue Mallam, Lead Volunteer.
Opening Hours:
10am—3pm Mon-Fri, 10am-1pm Sat, Closed Sun
The charity shop is located at 186 Ashby High Street across from the hall.
