Julie’s Testimony
PERSONAL TESTIMONY FOR EASTER SERVICE, Yorkshire Division 25.03.21
I have been asked to speak today about God in my life. I am a soldier in the Scunthorpe Salvation Army and decided to take this step after l felt a calling from the Father.
I have always believed in God even as a child and was confirmed in my twenties. Then over thirty years ago, l started a deeper walk
with Him, an awakening of what this really meant.
My eyes were opened by someone who understood His word greater than l did.
This had a profound effect
on my life, and it started to change me as a person.
The beauty of His word and His teachings when you start to apply them has a purity and a power that can't help but effect you.
When l listen to the news and see all that is happening in the world and how man is trying to find the answers to so many questions, l go to Our Lord and give all this to Him for l know His word has the answer to all man's troubles.
We are always given hope and through that people who believe are doing great work to heal our world.
Throughout this pandemic for me personally it has been a difficult time. I have been caring for my elderly father who sadly has just passed away.
During this time l have found many words in the Bible to help me ....
to strengthen me ....to give me peace and hope.
One of my favourite scriptures from Matthew 11: 28-30
Come to me all you who are weary and burdened,
and l will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for l am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
I am so pleased l have the Father in my life, l don't know where l would be without him.
Another reading l have gone to is: Romans 12: 1-21
Beautiful words are found in verse 10:
