What a change in our worship...but the Lord is still here!
My chosen Bible reading is Galatians 6:10
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people who belong to the family of believers.
Also there are three verses in
Song 944 which are helpful and encouraging, and answer questions about life:
1. What can I say to cheer a world of sorrow?
2. What can I do to ease life’s heavy burdens?
3. What can I do to justify my living?
The Bible verse helps us to make sense of what we can do in these situations:
DO GOOD TO ALL PEOPLE.
And the chorus of the song gives us the strength to do just that:
Just where he needs me, my Lord has placed me,
Just where he needs me, there would I be!
And since he found me, by love he’s bound me
To serve him joyfully.
Sometimes we need to be led by a child’s example:
A story is told of a little boy with a big heart. His next-door neighbour was an older gentleman whose wife had recently died. When the youngster saw the elderly man crying, he climbed up onto his lap and simply sat there.
