HAMDDEN GWLEDIG / RURAL LEISURE
CYCLE TRAINING FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS
Over 500 year 5 and 6 pupils have received Cycle Training since September 2023.
Conwy is the only authority in North Wales to hold the ‘Bikeability’ accreditation. The scheme is delivered to all primary schools in Conwy. Trainees have been learning the Highway Code, riding positions on the road and general bike checks and safety.
RURAL FITNESS
The rural leisure fitness classes have been running across rural Conwy, and also include online classes such as YouTube videos for people to access at any time with sessions changing each week. Furthermore, there have
been online Zoom Yoga and Pilates classes for people over 60 to enjoy! There are new classes arriving each month - see current programme on next page.
ALN SESSIONS
Additional Learning Needs sessions have been taking place throughout Conwy. Some of the sessions include ski lessons on the dry ski slope. The overall aim is to work on a project with Llandudno and Champery, which are twinned. The national ski team will be coming over to Llandudno as part of the project. The leisure development section will be working with a group to take over to Champery for the twinned project.
