America liaison to the PCA.
He provided the group with an informative narrative while we toured the facility, including
the Heritage museums and a surprise (and rare) visit to the closely guarded Porsche Classic restoration Center, which was a real highlight. Little did we know that a bigger surprise was yet to come.
During the day, we had
heard that the new 992 GT3 was rumored to be in the building, and we made an emphatic plea with Mark to find out if we could see it. He was understandably non- committal and honestly, I had my doubts, but we had Fred. Mark slipped away for a few minutes and as he reappeared, he gestured to the group to follow him into the garage.
Back in a low-lit corner
was the actual Shark Blue 992 GT3 Press launch car that we
had all read about and seen on those YouTube Videos. Yes,
the KCRPCA was the first PCA chapter to get up close (and touch) the legendary GT icon. It was epic. What a fitting end to another memorable KCRPCA Porsche Center experience. The only concern I have is, how do we top this?
Many thanks to Samantha Alexander and Mark Harston and the team at Porsche North America for making this a memorable experience.
