The Kansas City Region has
held two virtual events so far; the Changing of the Guard and the 24 Hour of Daytona Watch Party. Both were pulled off wonderfully, with great participation and attendance. But something was missing from one and the other was greatly enhanced.
The Changing of the Guard,
aka COG, is one of my favorite events. Having been President, I can tell you it is a wonderful time to celebrate KCRPCA, to thank the

The Daytona Watch Party is a more chill event. You get to hangout with your buds and have a beer and a burger while cheering on Porsche.
When the COG event went virtual, it seemed to be missing something. Don’t get me wrong; it went off without a hitch and was well planned. The best part was hearing from each board member as they told their intro-to-Porsche story. But the buzz and energy of 120+ people is just lost on a Zoom call. You can’t replace it.
Meanwhile, the normally chill watch party became an interactive social event! Where I would normally just sit and watch the race, I was now up and running across my house to find Porsche memorabilia. Soon Iwas looking up Porsche facts,
