I began chatting with some of the attendees. I quickly learned many of them had previous autocross experiences, while others were also out for their first attempt at an autocross. “Other rookies” I thought to myself. I no longer felt as nervous.
A BIT TOO MUCH ENTRY SPEED WAS MADE WORSE BY GETTING BACK ONTO THE THROTTLE TOO SOON, CAUSING ME TO SPIN, RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF EVERYONE!
 At the driver’s meeting, Autocross Director Rudy Rodriguez explained the
course and gave a lot of helpful instruction. By the time we got done with the parade lap, I was thinking “man that’s a lot of cones to memorize.”
I was glad to learn that my first lap would be with driving instructor Jeff Hallam. With him riding shotgun and giving me more coaching and instruction, my confidence was rising.
  It was great to
meet Joel at his
fist autocross. His enthusiasm was awesome... Almost as awesome as his spin in front of the attendees. We ALL CHEERED!!!
