ST. JOE FUN RUN
TO THE WOLLENMAN’S
THE LAST FUN RUN OF THE YEAR IS THE BIGGEST YET!

Kansas City Region Porsche Club of America turned out in great force November 7, 2020. The event was the annual Fun Run hosted by Connie, Bob and Nick Wollenman. I am going to circle back about November 7th. The reason....November
in Kansas/Missouri can be very unpredictable. No one could imagine that the weather would be a beautiful, sun shining 50+ degree day.
Covid challenges have kept people from holding events. 43 cars were part of the fun run. This had to be close to a record for KCRPCA. It certainly
was for the Wollenman event. Porsches of every color and age were lined up in the northwest Kansas City area. People just kept arriving for the event. It became so large that we split into two groups. I led the first group
and son, Nick, led the second group.
The drive took a little different route this year. One of the recommendations was to have a restroom break during the hour and a half drive. We maneuvered through the rolling hills to Platte City where we broke for the restroom break at the Quik Trip. This turned out to be special with so many local people admiring this collection of our cars.
We left the QuikTrip and proceeded to head north towards St. Joseph. We stayed off interstate highways and found ourselves driving along the Missouri River bluffs. This afforded us great scenery that included freshly manicured farms, various estates along the way and wooded areas seldom seen by our membership.
