wife Mamie is buried beside her famous husband. The library
is not a showy place, reflecting President Eisenhower himself.
It is chock full of the history of Eisenhower, both before and during WW2 and his presidential years.
Thursday morning, after a scrumptious breakfast prepared by the B & B’s host/chef, my Macan S was fired up again and we high tailed west to Colorado. Thanks to a fine radar detector and wide open expanses of Kansas and Colorado prairie, our destination was quickly reached.
Bright and early Friday,
like before sunrise early, club
members convened in the hotel’s
lobby, then drove to the North TOP
Pole. Well, not that North Pole, but the gift shop of the same name that has sat at the base of Pikes Peak since the 1950’s.
