Departing Royal Gorge, our band of Porsches headed north on a circular route. For an hour we explored deep valleys and virgin meadows. Our only stop was not planned. Our group had become spread out. So that the stragglers could catch up,we paused in the village of Guffy, an enclave of log cabins and friendly residents. Here, collections of antique
tools, wagon wheels, rusted out 1930’s trucks and cars and some very creative pieces of art were discovered.
To wrap up our driving activities for the weekend, Sunday was a quick jaunt to the nearby Garden of the Gods.

Saturday morning our cavalcade made its way to the world renowned Royal Gorge, just

a private, escorted drive across the suspension bridge. Once across we circled around, drove back to the bridge, then halted on the bridge, 956 feet above
the Arkansas river. Talk about a photo op! Sadly, approximately four years ago, a wild fire destroyed all but one of the 50 buildings in this area of the park. Even the wooden boards making up the bridges’ planking were
