I just go back from an afternoon drive with my lovely wife. No destination. No reason. It was just to get out for an afternoon drive. We took in the beautiful fall colors and watched the sun set as we crisscrossed the Kansas country side. I wondered if the sun was setting a little slower, as if to prolong this evening drive. Windows were down. Bun warmers were on. And yes, Van Morrison music was playing on the stereo. Yes, fall must be the best season for driving a Porsche.
the PCA, nestled in the beautiful hill country of Arkansas. It is by far one of the best organized events I have been to. There is a people’s choice car show, a banquet, and several tech sessions. But, the main reason people go is the driving. The rolling countryside is breath taking, made even more so by the parade of cars you are flowing through the countryside with. Yes, fall must be the best season for driving a Porsche.
I remember a beautiful fall Sunday morning when I was on a quest to get Dunn Cider Mill donuts. The family had stopped by on Saturday to get the donuts. If you have never been, they are heavenly. We ate some and saved the rest for Sunday morning breakfast. Late in the evening our dog Heston must have gotten the munchies, because he found the donuts and ate the whole bag! Grumbling to myself, I hopped in my 996 on a quest to get more donuts before the family got up. My anger turned to joy as during my drive I enjoyed the beautiful country side and a few lost roads from my youth. I was soon glad Heston ate the donuts.
