way back, I really got into the spirit of how this club does drives: There was no posturing, hot-dogging, or any kind of reckless acts. You go. You drive. You drive well and carefully. You pay attention; sight-seeing is for passengers. Awareness peaks; you’re more in tune with your surroundings and the vehicle. Even with the mix of experience, this entire group were all very professional and serious drivers. This bunch makes you want to become better.
I’m impressed. I’m psyched to learn more and become that better driver. I think I’ve missed my IMSA window, but I’ve got a new enthusiasm for learning more about my 911 and attending more events. If you’ve read this far, thanks for putting up with my gushing about Porsche and my first run. Maybe all the racers in the club will chuckle, but from where I sit, in that left seat of my long- sought-after 911 – it’s never too late to learn how to drive well and enjoy the ride.
