SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TOO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS...

First, let me get this out of the way. The corona virus has caused devastating and deadly effects around the world. It should not be viewed casually or without regard as to what it has done or can do. We need to continue being smart and being safe.
Now that I have done my
due diligence, let’s move on to the lighter side of life, as seen through the eyes of Porschephiles and their fight against boredom.
The Saturday morning breakfast get together with coffee, cars, friends and food is currently on hiatus. This every weekend ritual usually has an all-male audience, giving guys the opportunity to do Tim Allen like Tool Time bonding. Over eggs and bacon, we discuss the latest Porsche race, an article in Der Sportwagen, or the Chiefs and Royals. All of this is done
without spouses sitting beside us, nudging us to change the subject or to pick up the napkin that just fell to the floor.
But now, we are quarantined with family, for God knows how long. No matter what size your home may be, there are only so many places that you can secret yourself before your presence is missed and demanded back.
I try to escape the downer newscasts by going to most every guy’s standby; televised sports. But slam on the brakes Charlie, there currently are no live sports. Argggggggh!!! There’s no fun
in watching a replay of the 1980 World Series, the Ali vs. Frazier fight, or last year’s 24 Hours of Daytona. You know who wins, and you may have DVR’d it and already replayed it fifty times. (note: The only exception would be this year’s Chief’s Super Bowl win, which never gets old).
