  3. Five or Six Point Harness Installation:
When your car hits the wall, the forces exerted are enough to stretch your belts signi cantly. If it can do that, imagine what it is doing to the mounting points, etc. Do not use thin metal extensions to mount your seat harnesses to the  oor/ seat rail, etc. Harnesses are a pain to in- stall correctly, but it is imperative to fol- low the manufacturer’s instructions on doing so. Large backing plates should always be used if fastening through a metal pan, etc. If the mounting point looks like it could bend or twist..... it will. If you are using the belts with
the quick connections at the body, make sure to put cotter pins through those tiny holes, so the clasp cannot come open and a belt slip off its mount. Improperly installed harnesses are probably the #1 offender that I  nd during tech inspec- tions. People want to be fancy with rac- ing harnesses, but don’t want to drill holes, or weld, etc. in their car to mount them correctly, so they are just kind of thrown in there. At that point, you are safer with a DOT shoulder belt. On an- other note, if you do NOT have a full roll BAR, please do not install a 5 or 6 point harnesses system on a harness bar.
