I narrowed my choice to the 2006 BMW M coupe manual hatchback and the 2006 Porsche Cayman S. I researched both cars extensively via online auto jour- nals and YouTube. Both cars received rave reviews, so I decided to settle this by experiencing the cars myself.
The challenge was nding these unique vehicles in Kansas City. Fortunately, I had a business trip planned for Cincinnati not long after I started my search. A dealer there had several M coupes to drive. The black M coupe I drove looked beautiful from the outside and the driving experience was as good as advertised. Not long after my trip, I found a black Cayman S for sale lo- cally and took the opportunity to drive the mid-engine sports car.
From the outside, the Cayman had beautiful lines and curves giving it a unique and exotic look. The cockpit felt roomier. The gearbox I had heard so much about did not disappoint. Steering feedback was incredible! This mid-engine beauty felt much more re ned and much more balanced than the M coupe especially around cor- ners. As good as the M coupe was, the Cayman was that much better. I smiled throughout the test drive and decided right there and then to make an offer on the Cayman. I have not stopped smiling since! The addi- tion of the Fabspeed valvetronic exhaust has taken the driving experience to another level; especially when I drive through the tunnels at the 75th street exit. The sound at high revs is music to my ears! There is no doubt in my mind I made the right decision!

The day my youngest daughter graduated high school, I de- cided to upgrade my garage by trading in my four door BMW 3 series sports sedan. You can call it a mid-life crisis, but I envisioned lling my spot in the garage with a true two seat sports car.
