When the cold war ended, I was on the faculty of the Army War College in Pennsylvania and lead a delegation to Poland, Czechoslovakia and Hungary after the fall of the wall. After retiring from the Army, I ran a research center in Heidelberg, Germany and returned to the US in 1996 as a defense contractor.
