CLE ELUM CABIN
CLE ELUM, WASHINGTON
Nestled in the mountains east of Seattle, this ‘modern rustic’ Cabin, composed of three separate structures— house, garage and bunk house—was designed as a family retreat for three generations. Exposed steel and wood structure create dramatic overhangs and sheltered outdoor spaces for year-round use. Modern details in stone, cedar and reclaimed wood , metal siding and cor-ten steel, and a board-formed concrete chimney work together with eclectic furniture to create a one-of-a-kind retreat. The home features a high-performance rain screen building envelope with continuous insulation, a 10kWh PV solar panel array engineered for a Tesla Powerwall battery backup system, LED lighting, an electric car charging station, and radiant oor heating.
