SATURN IB ROCKET
The Saturn V rocket had a little brother of two stages, 141.6 feet high, named Saturn IB, designed to perform suborbital and orbital flights. The first manned Apollo mission—the Apollo 7 test flight—was propelled by one of these rockets on October 11, 1968. The Saturn IB had a payload capacity of 46 000 pounds to the Low Earth Orbit (LEO).
