PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
In your hands you are holding the keys to the fastest growing sector of the baking industry! This is the 2020 edition of the Tortilla Industry Association Membership Directory and Buyer’s Guide, the most comprehensive guide to this exciting industry. This contains the leading companies which produce tortillas and the companies which supply them with ingredients, equipment and other needs.
The continued growth and success of our Industry attests to your hard work and efforts, and TIA’s mission is to help facilitate and grow your success. We do this through a variety of initiatives including:
Conferences and Events
• TIA’s next Annual Convention is being held again by popular demand at Harrah’s Southern CA Resort Casino on May 1-2, 2020 featuring a Trade Show with 75 leading suppliers exhibiting the latest in equipment, ingredients, supplies and other needs plus educational sessions and an annual Awards & Entertainment Banquet, a Golf Tournament, and winery tours.
• TIA’s 4th Europe Conference will be in an exciting new location that enables us to offer for the first time two factory tours! The Europe Conference will take place on September 15-16, 2020 in beautiful Belgrade Serbia at the Crowne Plaza. This event focuses on technical and regulatory issues that are specific to the EU
business climate and draws attendees from 18 countries in Europe and the Middle East, Africa and the Far East. Registered attendees from producer companies at this event represent over 45% of Europe’s tortilla production!
• Our next TIA Tech will be in Long Beach, CA on October 5-6, 2020, featuring two days of learning, one day in an intensive classroom setting and one day of factory tours, plus a tabletops cocktail reception to enhance networking – at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach.
• NEW! “Hands-On” tortilla production classes made possible by TIA’s recent acquisition of tortilla equipment will be offered to train your workers at convenient locations around the country.
Facilitating Communication and Commerce
• The TIA Membership Directory & Buyer’s Guide which you are now holding • Weekly TIA Newsletter delivered electronically to over 6,000 readers
• “Opportunity Alerts” and “Ask the Experts” e-mails we frequently send out
Improving Conditions for our Members
• College scholarships for member’s employees and their families
• Advocacy efforts in Washington DC including meeting members of Congress and staff
In addition, in September of 2019, TIA launched in a sister organization, the International Flatbread Federation (or IFF) to provide a forum for manufacturers of flatbread. IFF will co-locate events with TIA but have its own Education Committee. Membership in TIA or IFF automatically gives you membership in the other.
As a TIA member you will have the ability to participate in planning future TIA events by being active the committees which plan them, and even running for a seat on the TIA Board of Directors. Frequently visiting the TIA website www.tortilla-info.com will help you keep up to date on latest plans and announcements.
All events include activities designed to promote networking between you and the leading players in our industry, building the relationships which facilitate and accelerate your success.
