Pay as you go SIM cards are readily available in the UK from providers such as 02 / Vodafone / and EE. It may be worth doing a bit of research to find out which provider offers the cheapest rates on international calls. Companies such as giffgaff or Lycamobile are worth exploring. On arrival at your school / college ask which service provider has the best signal as some will be better than others.
