HEALTH AND SAFETY
Illness\Sick Child
The health and safety of your child is very important to us and in order to protect all children in our program we have expectations . If your child becomes ill in
our program, we will call you and you must make arrangements to pick up your child within 30 minutes. Readmission will be allowed with a doctor’s note or when a child has been without symptoms for 24 hours and without fever reducing medicine.
Please keep your child home if they have:
• Had a fever in the previous 24 hours
• A cold that is less than two days old
• Nasaldischarge
• Constantcough
• Vomitingordiarrhea
• Temperatureof100˚Forhigher
• Symptomsofcommunicabledisease(reddened eyes, sore throat, abdominal pain plus fever)
There are no refunds for days missed due to illness.
Allergies
Please disclose all allergies your child has with as much detail as possible at the time of registration.
If medication or treatment for an allergy is required such as an EpiPen, bring it with the child each week. The medication will remain with a staff member during program hours and returned to parent\ guardian at pick up.
Injury
Our staff members are trained in First Aid and CPR and will treat your child if they sustain a minor injury while in our care and you will be notified at pick up
of any minor injuries. If your child sustains an injury requiring more than our First Aid skills allow or your child experienced any injury to the head we will make an immediate attempt to contact you. Please make every effort to keep up-to-date contact information on file with us in case of emergency. If injury requires, we will call 911.
Food Safety
Your child will be in our care for two hours,., the YMCA will not provide food or facilitate\allow food consumption during the program. You may choose to feed a snack prior if you feel your child will be hungry during the program.
