Group Exercise
Group exercise classes are a great way to work out,
try something new and make new friends. The Tampa
Y is a leader in group fitness and offers a variety of
classes with modifications. Beginners and athletes
can all enjoy group exercise today. Group Exercise
instructors offer modifications for each move or exercise, giving participants options for intensity and low or high impact.

Increase your heart rate with cardio classes! Based on the type of
class, cardio exercise classes include jumping jacks, running, jumping, kickboxing, and dancing. Bootcamp, Cycling, Les Mills BodyCombat, Les Mills BodyStep, and Zumba classes offer a fun take on cardio exercise. Members can try Cycling or BodyCombat for low-impact cardio workout.
Cycling
Go on an adventure during your workout! Cycling is a popular group exercise class with high-energy music. Beginners and experienced cyclists will experience challenging climbs to test strength and endurance. Ride at your own pace and control the intensity of your ride by increasing or decreasing the tension on the bike.
Les Mills
Les Mills classes are choreographed fitness programs taught by trained instructors. The Tampa Y offers Les Mills classes at 12 locations and all types of workouts including: yoga-based BodyBalance, BodyPump for strength training, martial arts-based BodyCombat for full body cardio (non-contact mixed martial arts), CXWorx 30-minute core strength, BodyAttack for strength and endurance, BodyStep for cardio and more!
Strength Training
Strength training is important for metabolism and overall wellness. Challenging strength training can help control weight, improve balance, keep joints flexible and improve bone and muscle strength. Try Les Mills BodyPump, CxWorx and other total body toning classes using weights, barbells and bodyweight to strengthen your body.
Yoga & Pilates
Connect your mind, body and spirit through Yoga, Pilates, and Barre classes. Measured breathing combined with stretching and mental focus is the foundation of yoga and Pilates. Regardless of ability, research has shown practicing yoga regularly increased energy levels, lower blood pressure, improved memory, better balance, and a greater sense of calm.
